Session Information

I offer evidence based approaches to support emotional regulation and nervous system de-escalation.

When we are in stress or conflict our defense mechanisms are activated and we can feel at war with ourselves or each other. A safe therapeutic relationship can enable you to tap into resources that support and calm the nervous system and regulate fight/flight/freeze responses. I offer an understanding of personal and interpersonal neurobiology that supports developing a healthy and safe relationship with self. Experiencing life stress, loss of sleep, pain, anxiety, depression we can work together to build new skills in managing life.  The tools used incorporate trauma-informed practice approaches using CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, movement, and stress based reduction techniques.

I am a Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with a Medicare Provider Number. Accredited Mental Health Social Workers are able to provide ‘Focused Psychological Strategies’ to eligible people with a diagnosed mental disorder (such as anxiety or depression) under the Better Access to Mental Health initiative. You can obtain a referral to see me from a Medical Practitioner (GP).
